Completed as a 35,000 sq. ft. multi-phase Addition and Renovation to the Downtown Historic Facility of First Presbyterian Church, this project was very challenging both in design and continued "usability". With its new Activity Center meeting the multipurpose needs of large gathering and recreational programs, and the exquisite two-story Gathering Narthex providing a decorative space for small gatherings and receptions; this new facility has become a valuable addition to the congregation and the city. In consideration that the addition was basically "fit" into the restricted downtown site and space between the existing buildings; and that the renovation scope, for all practical purposes, included nearly all of the existing facility this challenge ended in a great success. In the midst of this expansive scope of work, the Church had to be able to continue to operate and offer their programs and ministry to the community, and in the end everything worked well, allowing many new opportunities for growth and continued service to the community.
