Upon completion of their new 1,300 seat Worship/Educational Facility, the leadership at Fellowship Church in Knoxville, Tennessee were faced with the challenge of meeting the growing and dynamic needs of the Children and Youth ministries within the "old" worship and adult education space. These spaces, although similar in thought and design, were required to be customized for the ministry needs of the specific age groups. The Children's space needed to be flexible and exciting for large gatherings and activities, and had to maintain a centralized focus within a safe and secure environment. Likewise, the Youth areas needed to be large "active" environments that would give the young people a feeling of independence and personal place, but at the same time needed to be focused and functional for each specific ministry vision. With these challenges, and a somewhat limited budget, we successfully achieved the goals of each ministry area, creating a very unique environment that is much different from the "typical" church educational atmosphere.
