Back
in the early nineties, we began our relationship with Bethel United
Methodist Church, meeting and working with a vibrant and dynamic congregation
who were looking to relocate their facilities to a newly purchased
site just South of Atlanta. Although very traditional in their denominational
ties and theory, the membership was generally young in age and sought
a more contemporary atmosphere. A full site Masterplan was completed,
with the Phase One development consisting of a new two-story facility
of nearly 12,500 square feet to accommodate a contemporary style Worship
for 500 attendees (with future expansion to 800), complete with the
necessary Educational and Administrative space to work for the maintenance
of a balance of ministries. By meeting with the various committees
within the Church, we were able to understand them as a congregation,
as well as, assist them in meeting their denominational requirements
and approvals. Overall the final product is a unique structure with
interesting plays on light and material to create interest and enhance
a feeling of spirituality. This has been a very successful development
for the Church, and the next phase is scheduled to begin soon. |
